Booking a choir for your big day can be a daunting prospect or an exciting
next step. However we hope that the following guide will help you prepare.
1) Will your wedding ceremony be a religious service or a civil service?
This will restrict you as to what type of music can be performed.
2) Do you need an organist / pianist for the service / reception
3) Does your venue have an organ / piano that can be used by the
choir?
4) How many choir members can fit into the space allowed at your
venue?
5) Would you like the choir to sing during the signing of the register?
6) Will any other musicians be involved in the day?
Can the choir liaise with these musicians directly?
7) Can we visit the venue before the day of the ceremony?
8) What is parking like at the venue?
9) What processional & recessional would you like?
For religious ceremonies:
1) How many hymns will there be in the service?
2) Which hymn book are you hymn choices from? Words vary from book
to book.
3) Which tunes would you like for the hymns? Some hymns have several
tunes (e.g. Love Divine)
4) Who will be the minister for the service? Can we liaise with him/her
directly?
